Dear Scouts and Families,
I will be doing my Eagle Project on Sunday, October 25th and Saturday October 31st at Blue Mound State Park. We will be working on the Flintrock Trail at the west tower end of the park. Old railroad ties used as steps will need to be removed and a new set of stairs will need to be constructed and put in place. We will be working from 8am to 4pm both days. Please feel free to attend as your schedule allows. You are welcome to come to one or both days; the bulk of the work will be done on Sunday. Saturday the 31st is during the Owl Surprise so if you are not going camping and can work, that would be great. Everyone is welcome to come help out. Bring your family, friends, relatives, and so on. Lunch will be provided. Wear work clothes, work shoes, and bring safety glasses if you have some. Some tools that will be needed for the the project include shovels, gravel rakes, sledgehammer, hammers, chisels, steel pry bars, wheelbarrows, 5-gallon buckets, tape measures, levels, and string for marking straight lines. If you have any of these tools and are willing to bring them, it would be much appreciated. I will have a sign up sheet for tools and and for signing up to work also at the scout meetings. If you can work and/or bring tools, please sign on the sign-up sheets or email me back with what times you can be there. Park passes are not needed to gain entrance into the park to work on the project. Tell the attendant at the park's entrance that you are a volunteer to be working on the project. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or ask me at any of the scout meetings.
Hope to see you there!
Thanks,
Dan Muehlenkamp
